BURIAL GROUND FOR NEPALI CHRISTIANS
The 40 days’ relay prayer and relay hunger strike organized by the Christian Advisory Committee for New Constitution demanding with the government for a proper place for burial ended on 1st May 2011 with an agreement between the government and the Christian Community. Rev. Ishu Jung Karki, C. B. Gahatraj, Pastor Tej Man Tamang, Dr. Sarita Thapa, Shova Sthapit and Sita Bardewa represented the Christian Community in the meeting that reached the agreement. According to the agreement the government of Nepal will immediately arrange a temporary burial ground while a permanent place will be provided based on national and international practices. A committee consisting of representatives of various political parties, joint-secretaries of home, forest, land reform and cultural ministries and 3 representatives of Christian Communities will be formed within 3 days to provide suggestions for the same.
